Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce that Captain Stefan Della Rovere has been selected to play for Canada's World Junior Team in Ottawa, starting Boxing Day.
Hockey Canada made the announcement Monday morning as they made all of their 16 cuts, trimming the roster down to two goalies, and for the first time ever 12 forwards and 8 defensemen.
There are six skaters from the Ontario Hockey League; P.K. Subban, Alex Peitrangelo and Ryan Ellis on defense. John Tavares and Cody Hodgson join Della Rovere up front.
Stefan had a pair of goals in Saturday night's inter squad game, as Team Red beat Team White 7-2.
