Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, ID- The Idaho Steelheads (18-16-9) scored twice in the first period, and Tyler Beskorowany's 39 saves made the two tallies all Idaho would need as the Steelheads topped the Western Conference-leading Utah Grizzlies (23-15-4) 2-1 at Qwest Arena.

Tristan King opened the scoring for Idaho on a low shot from the left wing boards that bounced off Utah goalie Marc-Andre Rinfret and into the net at 4:54 of the first period. King's unassisted goal was his second of the season.

At 9:13 of the first, Mark Derlago extended Idaho's lead to 2-0 after chipping home a loose puck from the front of the Utah goal on the power play. Cody Purves and Evan Barlow assisted on the goal.

Tom May scored for Utah to cut Idaho's lead to 2-1 at 11:31 of the second period as he ripped a slap shot from the top of the right circle. May's goal would be the final goal of the game.

Beskorowany stopped 39 of 40 shots and improved his record to 5-3-4 in net for Idaho. Rinfret is 0-1-0 after stopping 23 of 25 Idaho shots.
