Hamilton Recalls Urquhart and Masse

WHEELING, WV ‚¬" The Wheeling Nailers announced Thursday that defenseman David Urquhart, and forward Dany Masse have been recalled by the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Hamilton and Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League.

Urquhart, 26, appeared in 13 games with the Bulldogs this season recording an assist and four penalty minutes. In 21 games with Wheeling this season, Urquhart registered nine points (1g, 8a) and 30 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman has played a total of 120 AHL games amassing 19 points (6g, 13a) and 74 penalty minutes. This is his second call-up to Hamilton this season.

Masse, 22, rejoins Hamilton after posting five points in 25 games with Hamilton last season, and appearing in one game with the Bulldogs earlier in the season. The Pocatiere, QC native, has played in 20 games for Wheeling this season, registering nine points (1g, 8a) and 12 penalty minutes. Prior to his professional career, Masse registered 110 points (44 goals, 66 assists) in 68 regular season games with the Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL) during the 2008-09 season. Masse added 36 points in the 19 playoff games that season, helping Drummondville to clinch its first league championship.

The Nailers begin a three-game weekend series with Trenton in Johnstown on Friday beginning at 7:35 p.m. The next Nailers contest at WesBanco Arena is Saturday, January 29, against the Trenton Devils, game time is set for 7:35 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive a free Nailers T-shirt.
