Jordan Pearce Headed to Motown

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Friday recalled goaltender Jordan Pearce from the Grand Rapids Griffins and assigned goaltender Joey MacDonald to their AHL affiliate.

The 24-year-old Pearce, who earned the first NHL call-up of his career, shows a 5-3-1 record with a 3.00 goals against average and a team-high 0.904 save percentage in 11 contests with the Griffins. He has appeared in six straight games for Grand Rapids, and he earned a 3-1 record with a 2.19 GAA and a 0.933 save percentage during the team's recent four-game Texas swing.

Pearce has also logged eight games with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye this season, going 3-4-1 with one shutout, a 4.13 GAA and a 0.883 save percentage.
