Idaho Steelheads News Release
BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today that opening night tickets are now on sale, and fans who purchase a ticket will receive $5.00 of free gas at any Jacksons.
In addition, Upper Bowl tickets regularly priced at $17 will be $15 on Opening Night, Friday, October 17th, 2003.
The Steelheads made the decision to offer the incentive after the ECHL commissioner challenged all 31 teams in 18 states, to sell out opening night.
"The 2003-04 season promises to be the most exciting in history. The expanded ECHL becomes the largest league in professional hockey with a national footprint as the Premier "AA" Hockey League with new teams, new rivalries and an expanded level of competition," said Brian McKenna, ECHL Commissioner. "We have challenged our teams to sellout opening night and we encourage fans in all markets to come out on opening night and experience the all-new ECHL."
The Steelheads' goal is to be the first team in the League to sell out.
Idaho's head coach John Olver said, "We hope to see every seat filled on opening night and continue our tradition. It energizes the players to see and hear the fans cheering them on, and it's a great way to kick off the new ECHL season."
Also today, individual game tickets are on sale for all 36 regular season home games. In addition to the gas promotion, the Steel-A-Deal gives fans $1.00 off any 12-pack Pepsi product purchased at Jacksons throughout the season. Simply redeem any or all of the 36-game ticket stubs at any participating Jacksons store to receive $1.00 off each purchase.
Tickets are available at the Bank of America Centre Box Office, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or by logging on to www.idahotickets.com.
