Brampton Steelheads News Release
The Mississauga Steelheads announced Thursday that they have traded goaltender, Emanuel Vella to the Flint Firebirds. In return for Vella, the Steelheads receive a 2019 fifth-round priority selection.
The 6'4, 190lb, Toronto, Ont., native was originally selected by the London Knights in the third round (47th overall) of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. The Steelheads acquired Vella from the Owen Sound Attack before the start of last season. He appeared in 32 games for Mississauga, posting a 3.28 GAA (goals against average) and a 0.896 SV% (save percentage), with a record of 17 wins and 10 losses.
The Steelheads would like to thank Emanuel for his contributions and commitment to representing the Steelheads on the ice and in the community. We wish him the best of luck in Flint this season and in all his future endeavours.
