
Steelhawks Dearaujo Named IFL Offensive Player of the Week

Bethlehem, PA: In release made today, the league office of the Indoor Football League announced that Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Wide Receiver Irani DeAraujo Jr. was selected as the Week Seven VidSwap.com Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the team's 62-41 victory over the Reading Express.
DeAraujo becomes the fourth player to receive league honors this season, following Marvin Johnson in Week One, and Bryan Randall and Chris Hazley in Week Four. DeAraujo, who leads the Steelhawks in receiving, came into the contest with one touchdown in 2012. He left with a total of six after hauling in five scores in the game. He has formed a great relationship with Steelhawks signal caller Bryan Randall and is coming into a zone nearing the midpoint of the season. Look for DeAraujo to once again be a force in the receiving game as the Steelhawks take on the Cedar Rapids Titans inside the Stabler Arena this Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available to the game and can be purchased thru the Steelhawks website, or via the Stabler Arena Box Office.
The league also announced that Cedar Rapids Titans Defensive back TJ Simmons and New Mexico Stars Kick Returner Darius Marshall. were selected as the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week respectively.
