Reading Express vs. Bloomington Edge Game Preview

April 12, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Reading Express News Release

The Reading Express will take on the second ranked team in the IFL united division, the Bloomington Edge, for the second time this season, this time on their own turf at the Sovereign Center for College Night Salute to the Red Solo Cup at 7 p.m.

Last week the Express lost to their cross-county rival the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks in a game that they were winning going into the second half. If the Express can keep the momentum and intensity through that second half, they have a fighting chance to give the Bloomington Edge their second loss of the season.

For the Edge, they are coming off a bye week and big win from the week before against the Chicago Slaughter (who won the first match-up the first week of the season).

Currently, the Edge is averaging 241 yards per game, while the Express is averaging 192. The Edge's quarterback, Dusty Burk, is currently ranked 10th in the league averaging 210 passing yards per game. They also house the second leading tackler in the league, Ameer Smail with 58 total tackles.

The Express' Tim Bailey has really helped move this team in the right direction building connections with leading receivers Chris Schubert and Dominique Jones. Bailey's biggest challenge will be the pressure in the pocket from the Edge defense which currently has recorded 18 sacks on the season.
