The Chicago Steel fell to the Tri-City Storm 5-4 in a shootout Friday at Fox Valley Ice Arena...The Steel overcame a 2-0 deficit to take leads of 3-2 and 4-3 but Tri-City tied the game with under seven minutes left in regulation and converted both shootout chances to earn the extra point...The Steel have earned a point in 12 of 14 games in the new year.
Cornell commit Charlie Major scored his 20th goal of the season. The goal moved Major's point streak to four games, with six points in that span. The veteran forward has managed a point in eight of the last nine games and has 15 points in that stretch.
Harvard commit Mick Thompson recorded an assist and has posted an assist in seven of the last nine games, averaging an assist per game during that stretch while also netting five goals.
Providence commit Kolin Sisson recorded his fifth multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist, ending a nine-game scoring drought for the rookie forward.
Forward Michael Emerson also had a goal and an assist in his second multi-point game since returning to the Steel in January. Emerson has nine points in ten games played this season.
Augustana commit Joey DelGreco scored his 17th goal of the season. It was DelGreco's first point in the last seven games.
Rookie forward Tobias Ohman registered his second multi-point game of the season with a pair of assists Friday.
New Hampshire commit Price Grimes, Princeton commit Chris Reiniger, and Denver commit Lukas Sawchyn each recorded assists for the Steel.
Nebraska-Omaha commit Louka Cloutier made 20 saves after entering the game following the first period. The rookie goaltender stopped 16 of 17 shots in the third period alone.
