
Storm Set for Saturday Night Showdown against Steel

GENEVA, IL. - The Tri-City Storm is set for a Saturday night showdown against the Chicago Steel tonight at the Fox Valley Ice Arena following last night's thrilling 5-4 shootout victory for the Storm. Tri-City seeks to extend its current point streak to six games in tonight's battle against Chicago. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (21-13-4-4) won a shootout decision for the first time this season in last night's 5-4 road victory over Chicago. Vsevolod Logvin, Trevor Connelly, Blake Steenerson, and Artemi Nizameyev each netted goals for the Storm in the victory. Logvin and Cam Briere scored for Tri-City during the shootout to seal the win. Tri-City improved to 5-5-3-1 when tied after the 1st period, and 3-13-1-2 when trailing after the 2nd period in last night's road victory over Chicago. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's final game of the weekend include Trevor Connelly (18), Ryan Smith (16), Cam Briere (16), Owen Beckner (11), Jake Rozzi (11), August Falloon (11), and Artemi Nizameyev (10). The Storm improved to 2-1-1-1 in head-to-head matchups against the Steel over the last five seasons with last night's shootout victory. Tri-City will return to action next weekend with back-to-back road games against the Sioux City Musketeers and Omaha Lancers on Friday, February 23rd, and Saturday, February 24th. The Storm will return home again to host the Lincoln Stars in consecutive games on Saturday, March 2nd, and Sunday, March 3rd. Saturday's home game at the Viaero Center on Saturday, March 2nd, is the organization's annual Kool-Aid Night. The Storm will wear specialty sweaters that will be auctioned off following the matchup.
Chicago (17-19-3-3) is currently two points ahead of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for the final playoff spot in the USHL's Eastern Conference standings following last night's 5-4 shootout loss on home ice to Tri-City. Charlie Major, Kolin Sisson, Michael Emerson, and Joey DelGreco each netted goals during last night's contest for the Steel. Chicago dropped to 9-6-0-2 when tied after the 1st period, and 9-0-0-1 when leading after the 2nd period in last night's shootout loss. Chicago fell to 12-17-3-1 in games when outshot by opponents after being outshot by a final margin of 42-27 in Friday's opening battle of the weekend against Tri-City. Scoring leaders for the Steel entering tonight's rematch against the Storm include Michael Hage (21), Charlie Major (20), Joey DelGreco (17), Mick Thompson (16), Kolin Sisson (8), and Jordan Brisson (8). Chicago will conclude play this weekend at the Fox Valley Ice Arena tomorrow afternoon in a home contest against the Madison Capitols.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT and will be streamed on FloHockey and Storm Radio.
