Chicago Steel News Release

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Chicago Steel announced Tuesday that they have acquired forward Karch Bachman and defenseman Adam Parsells via trade from the Green Bay Gamblers in exchange for forwards Ryan Blankemeier and Connor Murphy. Additionally, the Steel completed a trade of defensemen with the Omaha Lancers, picking up Grant Gabriele in exchange for Michael Joyaux.

Bachman (5-11, 171), a fifth-round selection of the Florida Panthers in the 2015 NHL Draft, scored 19 goals and added 24 assists in 32 games last season for Culver Military Academy Prep in his home state of Indiana. The speedy left wing is committed to Miami (Ohio) University. Bachman has played in five games this season for Green Bay, tallying one goal and one assist.

Parsells, 18, adds serious size to the Steel blue line. The 6-foot-6, 192 pound defenseman was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 6th round (160th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. Parsells, who is committed to the University of Wisconsin, served as a captain last season for Wausau (Wis.) West High, scoring 7 goals and 15 assists in 23 games. Parsells has one goal in three games this season for the Gamblers.

Prior to joining the Lancers, Gabriele (6-1, 168) spent the past two USHL seasons with Team USA, tallying 12 points (3+9) in 47 games with the National Team Development Program. The 18-year-old defenseman was included on NHL Central Scouting's Preliminary Players to Watch list last month, giving the Western Michigan University commit a 'C' rating for the 2016 NHL Draft. Gabriele has played in six games this season with Omaha, scoring one goal and one assist.

Blankemeier and Murphy join the Gamblers after tallying 31 and 33 points respectively for the Steel in 2014-2015, while Joyaux heads to the Lancers following a 21-point campaign with Chicago last season. Green Bay's first trip to Fox Valley Ice Arena takes place this Friday, October 16, while Omaha will visit the Steel on April 3. All three players helped the Steel win Bronze at the 2015 Junior Club World Cup in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Tickets are on sale now for all Steel regular season home games, including this Friday's 7:30 p.m. contest versus Green Bay. Season ticket plans, starting at just six games, are also available. To purchase tickets, call 855-51-STEEL, visit the box office inside Fox Valley Ice Arena or visit ChicagoSteelHockeyTeam.com.
