Steamwheelers to Host U.S. Army Heroes' Night

June 26, 2007, (Davenport, IA) - The Quad City Steamwheelers are hosting U.S. Army Heroes' Night on Friday, June 29, when the team takes on the Green Bay Blizzard at The MARK of the Quad Cities at 7:30 p.m. In honor of those who serve both at home and abroad, the Steamwheelers are offering special $6.00 tickets for members of the military, police, fire, EMT"s and their families with a valid ID.

The Steamwheelers will also be wearing special camo-style jerseys that will be auctioned off at the post-game party. All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit QC FIST, a group supporting military personnel and their families.

"The Steamwheelers are proud to have this opportunity to honor our heroes," says Mike Bawden, the Managing Partner of the Quad City Steamwheelers. "In addition to the money raised from the jersey auction, the local credit unions that are attending the game along with several of our sponsors, such as QCA Pools and Spas, will be making donations as well. This is going to be a very special night."

The Steamwheelers are currently in first place in the American Conference Midwest Division and are a half game ahead of the Blizzard. Tickets to the contest are on sale now at The MARK box office, Ticket Master outlets or at www.ticketmaster.com. Local hero's that wish to take advantage of the special $6.00 tickets can purchase them in advance by calling the Steamwheelers at (563) 324-4888 or purchase them at The MARK box office on the night of the game by showing their ID's.
