
Steamwheelers Announce Big Promotional Night

(Davenport, IA) - The Quad City Steamwheelers have a jammed packed day of giveaways for the game this weekend against the Tennessee Valley Vipers. The 1st Annual Golf Demo Day, the Quad Cities Amazing Race, Valley Bank Team Trading Card Night and a jersey auction to benefit the Trinity Health Foundation have all been scheduled during this important match-up with the Tennessee Valley Vipers.
"The Quad City Steamwheelers are proud to host these major events for the fans," said Larry Bush, majority partner/operator for the Steamwheelers. "The Steamwheelers are more than just a sports franchise, they are an entertainment franchise and this is a day filled with fun and excitement for fans of our team."
Pre-game - First Annual Golf Demo Day
The Quad City Steamwheelers welcome all Quad City golfers to the First Annual Golf Demo Day presented by Miller Beer and Cleveland Golf at the pre-game tailgate starting at 5:00 p.m. Fans will be able to "test drive" some of Cleveland Golf's newest products. Throughout the tailgate party prizes from area golf courses will be given away as well.
Half-time - The Quad Cities Amazing Race
At half-time of the game this weekend several randomly selected contestants will have the opportunity to win great prizes from the Quad City Steamwheelers in the "Quad Cities Amazing Race."
The lucky fans will be brought down to the field and will have 30 seconds to run from one end zone to another and pick up boxes that will contain great prizes from the Quad City Steamwheelers and sponsors.
Some of the prizes include: Beer for a year from Miller Lite, Hooters Wing package, a Galaxy 1 Dish for a year, a golf package from Pebble Creek and many more prizes.
Post-game - 2006 Steamwheelers Team Trading Cards/Jersey Auction
Following the game the first 2,000 fans on the field for the post-game autograph session will receive a 2006 Quad City Steamwheelers Trading Card set presented by Valley Bank. This years set will come on a perforated poster size sheet. Fans wishing to keep the set in poster form may do so, while fans who wish to have them as trading cards can tear the set into individual trading cards.
Once the post game autograph session has concluded the special patriotic themed jerseys that the team wore during the game will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting the Trinity Health Foundation.
Ticket Information
The game against the Tennessee Valley Vipers is an important game as the Steamwheelers make a final push to the playoffs. A win on the eighth will bring the 'Wheelers to within one game of .500 and keep them in the playoff picture for another week.
