Steamwheelers and Trinity Regional Health System to Hold Charity Jersey Auction

(Davenport, IA) - The Quad City Steamwheelers and Trinity Regional Health System have teamed up to raise money for the Trinity Health Foundation. After the July 8 game against the Tennessee Valley Vipers starting at 7:15 p.m. on Orthopaedic Specialists Field at The MARK of the Quad Cities; the Steamwheelers will auction special jerseys that were worn during the game. All proceeds from the jersey auction will go to support the Trinity Health Foundation.

"We are glad to be able to help the Trinity Health Foundation for the second straight season," said Larry Bush, majority partner/operator for the Steamwheelers. "The Steamwheelers have held special jersey auctions the past five seasons around the fourth of July weekend."

The Steamwheelers will wear specially designed jerseys that are in the nation's colors in a stars and stripes design. They will be auctioned off immediately following the game.

The Trinity Health Foundation

The Trinity Health Foundation was founded in 1984 as a not-for-profit, charitable organization. The mission of the Foundation is to "To promote the well-being of the Quad-City area by financially supporting health-related programs and services in the Trinity Regional Health System and the broader community."

"Trinity Health Foundation is very pleased to be the recipient of this Steamwheelers fundraiser because it will enable us to continue to promote the healthy well being of our community," said Berlinda Tyler-Jamison, President of the Trinity Health Foundation. "The funds from this auction will enable us to award grants for services in such areas as prostate, breast cancer and heart disease. For more than five years, Trinity Health Foundation has been able to award over $3 million in grants to provide support for critical health care services in our community. This has only been possible due to the generosity of people like those who will participate in the Steamwheelers jersey auction. On behalf of the trustees and staff of Trinity Health Foundation - thank you!"

The Trinity Health Foundation has raised money for various health related projects in the Quad City community. The latest fundraiser was the "Stylin' Against Breast Cancer" featuring a luncheon and fashion show with all proceeds going to breast cancer related programs. Some of the other projects that the Trinity Health Foundation has or is currently supporting are the purchasing of VNHA telehealth monitors, distribution of 10,000 oral health/prevention kits for people in need, Midwest Hope and Healing, an organization that provides healing baskets for women undergoing breast cancer treatment, and many other projects.

Ticket and Game Information

The game against the Tennessee Valley Vipers is an important game as the Steamwheelers make a final push to the playoffs. A win on the eighth will bring the 'Wheelers to within one game of .500 and keep them in the playoff picture for another week.

In addition to the jersey auction the team will be handing out team trading cards before the on-field autograph session after the game and will be holding the "Quad City Amazing Race" at halftime.
