Memphis Xplorers News Release

SOUTHAVEN --- Memphis Xplorers WR/LB Terrance Quattlebaum was named the af2 US Army Ironman of the Week on Tuesday for his play in the team's 38-33 loss at Macon on Friday.

Quattlebaum was the team's leading receiver with nine catches for 101 yards and one touchdown. The fourth year player also led the team with seven tackles, a 24 yard fumble recovery return for a score and a combined 92 yards on field goal and kickoff returns.

For the season, the former West Virginia State standout is the team's second leading receiver with 50 receptions for 629 yards and 15 touchdowns. With his nine receptions in last week's game, Quattlebaum has now established new career highs in all three of the preceding categories. His previous high for receptions was 45 in 2002 with the New Haven Ninjas.

This is the first weekly award of Quattlebaum's career and just the third time an Xplorers player has won the Ironman of the Week honor. WR/DB Carlos McNeary won the award in Week Two of the 2002 season and WR/DB Terrell Adams took home the honor in Week 17 last season.

The 9-4 Xplorers head back out on the road as they face the 7-5 Louisville Fire this Saturday in a rematch of last season's ArenaCup. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. CDT at Freedom Hall in Louisville.
