St. Louis Steamers News Release

(St. Louis, Dec. 1, 2003) The St. Louis Steamers completed a difficult stretch of three games in four days with weekend road losses to Milwaukee (Nov. 28) and Dallas (Nov. 29). The Steamers were highly competitive in the first half of each game. In the 7-3 loss to MISL Central-division leading Milwaukee on Nov. 28, St. Louis jumped to a 2-0 lead and led 3-2 midway through the second before Milwaukee countered with two late second-period goals to take a 4-3 halftime edge. The following night, at Dallas, the Steamers trailed just 2-1 at halftime before the Sidekicks put the game away with five third-quarter goals.

The Steamers, who have lost six straight, had Monday off from practice and will conduct team weightlifting sessions Dec. 2 and 3 before resuming practice Dec. 4 at the Soccerdome in Webster Groves.
