
Staten Island falls to Aberdeen, Eric Duncan Makes Big Staten Island Debut

[Staten Island, NY] - Four unearned runs led to the difference in the game as the Yankees fell 8-4 to the Aberdeen IronBirds Monday night.
Adam Shorts committed two errors in the fifth and Carlos Rosario added one more in the eighth, leading to five unearned runs.
The Yankees scored once in the second on a single by Jared Treadway and twice in the fourth on a two-RBI double by Eric Duncan for the 3-0 lead.
But the IronBirds answered with five runs in the fifth, two in the second on one in the eighth for a 8-3 lead.
Treadway hit a two-out home run in the ninth, to make the score 8-4.
Duncan, the Yankees' first round selection in 2003 out of Seton Hall Prep (NJ) was 2-for-4 in his Staten Island debut with two RBI and one run scored. Treadway was also 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored.
Brandon Harmsen suffered th eloss, going 5.2 innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking one.
The Staten Island Yankees and IronBirds will conclude their series Tuesday night. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
