Batavia, NY - Joe Diefenderfer had all the right answers on Sunday night in Batavia, working seven complete innings to tame the Vermont Expos 2-1. Diefenderfer improved to 6-6 on the season with the win. He allowed four hits and one run en route to the victory.

Vermont jumped out to an early lead in the second inning when Lorvin Louisa hit a home run over the left field fence.

The rest would be all Muckdogs. In the fifth, shortstop Omar Bramasco doubled and was driven in by Michael Bourn to tie things up.

The sixth would decide the rest of the game as Jake Blalock slammed a double into right field. Kiel Fisher singled to follow, and Jack Headley grounded into a double play. Blalock made it to the plate on the double play, giving the 'Dogs their final tally.

For a Sunday night game, Dwyer Stadium was hopping; a crowd of 1,416 packed Dwyer Stadium to root on their boys.

Batavia is home again on Monday, they face off against division rival Mahoning Valley, game time set for 7:05pm.
