
Starting Five Produce 106 Points in 123-114 Victory Over Legends

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (5-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, walked away with a 123-114 win over the Texas Legends (2-6) on Tuesday night at Bert Ogden Arena.
Texas put up the first two points of the game, but RGV then went on a 13-0 run to make the score 13-2 in favor of the home team. The Vipers kept its advantage and set the score at 30-20 at the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter the Vipers increased its lead by 15 points which set the score at 67-52 at the half.
The Legends were turning things around in the third quarter as the team looked to shorten the Vipers lead. What was once a 15-point lead for the Vipers, turned into a six-point difference. With less than two minutes to go, the game was set at 89-82. RGV went on to score seven more points and walked away with a 96-82 lead at the end of the third.
During the fourth quarter Texas was putting up a fight as the team attempted to come back and walk away with a victory, but the Vipers managed to pull away with a 123-114 win.
Jarrett Culver led all scorers with 33 points followed by Darius Days with 29 points, Jalen Lecque with 22 points and Ray Spalding with 20 points.
Dallas Mavericks Two-Way player Dexter Dennis led the Legends with a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Jackson contributed 21 points. Dallas Mavericks Two-Way Greg Brown III also finished the night with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Dallas Mavericks Two-Way A.J. Lawson and Jordan Walker contributed 19 points and 13 points, respectively.
RGV will take on the Mexico City Capitanes in back-to-back matchups on Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1 with tip-off set at 7:30 p.m. CST for both games. On Friday night the first 500 fans in attendance will enter a raffle to have the opportunity of winning different giveaway items such as headsets, controllers and more in honor of the Vipers themed game night.
