
Birmingham Signs Daniel Giddens

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron have signed center Daniel Giddens via the available player pool with a roster hardship exception.
Giddens, a 6-11, 240-pound center played his most recent professional season with the Japanese team Sanen Neophoenix and averaged 5.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per contest in 41 appearances with 13 starts. Prior to his one season in Japan, Giddens played two seasons professionally in Switzerland.
The Marietta, Ga. native started his collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Alabama and finishing at Vermont, where he helped the Catamounts capture the 2019-20 America East regular season conference title.
Giddens will wear No. 7 for the Squadron and becomes active immediately.
