Stars Take on Tri-City for Three Games

February 29, 2024 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Lincoln Stars News Release

The Lincoln Stars open up March with three games in as many days against the Tri-City Storm, beginning on Friday night at the Ice Box. It's Hockey Fights Cancer and $2 Night as the Stars will be wearing specialty uniforms that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Bryan Health's cancer research. Busch Light, PBR, popcorn, medium sodas and hot dogs are all $2 as well.

This weekend is Lincoln's first time taking on Tri-City since a 3-2 shootout win at the Ice Box on Jan. 13. The Stars are 3-2 against the Storm this season with two of those victories coming in the shootout (the other was a 2-1 win on Dec. 31 at the Viaero Center). Lincoln is 10-7-1 against Tri-City the last two seasons.

The Stars are coming off a weekend split against the NTDP last weekend. It began with a 5-3 loss last Friday against the Under-18 team before a 3-1 win against the Under-17 team the next night. Lincoln opens a stretch of six consecutive road games Saturday after hosting Tri-City to begin the weekend.

The Storm, meanwhile, are about to wrap up an extended road stretch before regularly getting to play at home. Friday's game is their last of five consecutive road contests before playing seven consecutive games at home through Mar. 17. Tri-City is 2-2 since Feb. 16 and is 14-14-0-2 in road games. They split a pair of games last weekend, defeating Omaha, 9-2, last Saturday after losing Sioux City, 4-1, the night before.

Tickets for Friday night's game and all future games can be purchased at lincolnstars.com. The Stars will not be back home again until Mar. 15-16 against the Chicago Steel with Taylor Swift Night coming up in the second game.
