JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Huntsville Stars (3-1) kept the Jacksonville Suns' (1-3) offense at bay on Sunday, with the Stars emerging with a doubleheader sweep of the Suns.

The Stars rode timely hits and good pitching en route to a 7-1 game one victory, and shut out the Suns in Sunday's finale by a 3-0 final.

Following six innings of one-run ball, Taylor Jungmann (W, 1-0) earned the win for Huntsville, with Jacksonville's Angel Sanchez (L, 0-1) taking the loss for the Suns in a rough Double-A debut that lasted three-plus innings with the righty giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits.

Stars catcher Shawn Zarraga made the most of his first start of 2014 in game one, finishing a perfect three-for-three with four runs driven in for Huntsville in game one. Nick Ramirez and Nick Shaw each added an RBI for the Stars in the game.

Huntsville's pitching would only get stronger in game two of Sunday's double dip, despite having starting pitcher Andy Moye being forced to leave after 1.2 innings with an injury. Tyler Cravy (W, 1-0) would pick up the win after throwing 2.1 innings of one-hit ball. Kevin Shackelford (H, 1) scattered two hits over his two scoreless innings, with David Goforth (SV, 2) picking up his second save of 2014 after striking out two in the seventh inning to end the game.

The Stars hopped on Suns starter Justin Nicolino (L, 0-1) early, tagging him for three hits in the first inning, including an RBI triple off the bat of cleanup hitter Jason Rogers.

A critical blow came off the bat of Brock Kjeldgaard in the top of the fourth inning, with the powerful outfield ripping a two-out, two-run triple into the left center gap to push Huntsville's lead to 3-0.

In the loss, Nicolino would go five innings allowing three runs, with only one of them being earned on six hits, while not walking a single batter and striking out a pair of Stars.

The Suns and Stars will be back at it Monday night for the finale of the opening series of the 2014 season, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET from Bragan Field. Monday's pitching match-up will feature a pair of Double-A debuts, with Jacksonville set to throw out right-hander Jose Urena (0-0, 0.00) and Huntsville countering with the lefty Brent Suter (0-0, 0.00).

Suns fans can listen to Monday's game on the Suns Baseball Network, 94.1 WSOS-FM or through www.jaxsuns.com, MiLB.com or the Suns iPhone or Android app, beginning at 6:50 p.m. ET with the Memorial Hospital Suns Pregame Show.
