Stars sign player loan agreement

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White and Edmonton Oilers Assistant General Manager Scott Howson today announced that the Iowa Stars will have a partial affiliation with the Edmonton Oilers for the 2006-2007 season. This will mark the second season the Iowa Stars will receive a majority of players from their primary affiliate, the Dallas Stars, while also receiving player(s) from the Oilers.
"The door is open for the Iowa Stars to compliment our roster with a player or two for the upcoming season", commented White.
As part of the one-year player loan agreement, the Oilers will provide players to Dallas' development affiliate team, the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Iowa Stars begin their second year of their five-year affiliation agreement with the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars this fall. The Dallas Stars will continue to be responsible for all hockey operation decisions.
The Hamilton Bulldogs, the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, the Milwaukee Admirals, the primary affiliate of the Nashville Predators, the Grand Rapids Griffins, the primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the primary affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins will also serve as AHL affiliates of the Oilers.
In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams.
IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Houston. Wells Fargo Arena game time is 7:05 PM.
