SALT LAKE CITY - Twenty-four hours ago, the Salt Lake City Stars were licking their wounds following a disappointing 29-point home loss. On Sunday night, that all seemed like a distant memory as the Stars used a dominant second half to defeat the Santa Cruz Warriors at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in an impressive 106-92 victory.

Carsen Edwards led the Stars offensive attack with 27 points and four steals. Edwards has now led the Stars in scoring in 19 of the 28 games during the 2021-22 NBA G League regular season and entered Sunday's matchup ranked third in the league in points per game (26.3).

The Stars closed out the first half on a 9-0 run to cut the Warrior lead to 51-50 at the half. The Stars opened the third quarter with an extended 26-11 run, 13 of which came off the hot-shooting hand of Edwards.

The Stars locked in on the defensive end in the second half, holding the Warriors to 34.4 percent (14-of-32 FGA) and forcing the Warriors into 10 turnovers in the final two frames. The Warriors finished the night giving up 23 total turnovers, which the Stars were able to convert into 22 points.

Marques Bolden stepped up in a big way for a depleted Stars frontcourt, the former Duke Blue Devil contributed 15 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high four blocked shots.

Jared Wilson-Frame bounced back from a tough shooting night on Saturday to score 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting from deep, including a huge three-point make from the wing with 3:04 left to play in the fourth that squashed 7-2 Warriors run and handed the momentum back to the Stars.

Pe'Shon Howard joined the Stars only hours prior to tipoff, but the former USC guard was able to add 15 points off the bench to go along with seven rebounds.

Elijah Pemberton paced the Warriors with 26 points, while Jerome Robinson added 20 points, six rebounds and six assists.

The Stars will enjoy a few days off before an 8 p.m. date with the Agua Caliente Clippers on March 24 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif. Following their matchup against the Clippers, the Stars will return home for a rematch against the Santa Cruz Warriors on March 29 at Bruin Arena at Salt Lake Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
