Stars Rally Past Warriors to Grab Victory on Road

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, grabbed a 119-112 victory on the road against the Santa Cruz Warriors, securing the fifth spot in the Western Conference rankings (13-9).

The Stars were led by Christian Vital, who tallied 24 points on 7-of-14 (.500) shooting to go with five assists and three rebounds. Jeenathan Williams added 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Micah Potter made his return to the Stars after injury, notching a double-double, and filled the box score with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists. Isaiah Miller (15 points) and Eli Cain (14 points) both came off the bench to contribute double digits.

The Warriors were led by guard Lester Quinones, who scored a game-high 42 points on 15-of-29 (.517) from the field and 8-of-18 (.444) from three. Jerome Robinson netted 20 points, while Jayce Johnson grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds for the Warriors.

The Stars opened the game on a 13-0 run and held a four-point advantage (25-21) at the end of the first period. Salt Lake City held their lead throughout the second quarter, with Santa Cruz trailing closely behind (52-48). After the intermission, the Warriors battled back and secured their first lead of the night. This third quarter face-off saw eight lead changes and four ties before the Stars regained control, heading into the final frame 82-80. Despite a nine-point lead by Santa Cruz with only five minutes remaining, Salt Lake City closed the gap, ultimately outscoring the Warriors 37-32 in the period to secure the 119-112 victory.

Salt Lake City will return home to take on the Wisconsin Herd, back-to-back on Monday, Feb. 27 and Tuesday, Feb. 28. Both games will tip off at the Maverik Center at 7 p.m. (MT) and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
