DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced this afternoon that the Dallas Stars have recalled left wing Mathias Tjarnqvist (muh-TEE-uhs shyahrn-kvist) from their American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa.
The 26-year old Tjarnqvist has skated in 34 games for Iowa this season, registering 17 goals and 12 assists: 34(17/12/29). The 6-2, 196-pound winger has skated in 26 games for Dallas this season, recording two goals, four assists, and 12 penalty minutes: 26(2/4/6)12.
A third-round selection of the Dallas Stars in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he skated in 46 games in his native Sweden last season, recording 17 points, while his 2003-04 AHL numbers reflect 60 games, with 15 goals and 13 assists: 60(15/13/28). He has appeared in 44 career NHL games tallying three goals and five assists and 14 penalty minutes: 44(3/5/8)14
NEXT GAMES: The Iowa Stars finally return home for three games on Saturday, March 25th against Houston, Sunday the 26th and Tuesday the 28th against San Antonio. Saturday and Tuesday's game will have a 7:05 PM start, while Sunday's game begins at 5:05 PM. Doors open for all games, one-hour before face-off.
