Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars partnered with Community Action and Make-A-Wish Nebraska to raise money and boost spirits during the holiday season.

On Friday, Dec. 4, the Stars hosted the Teddy Bear Toss with 104.1 The Blaze, seeing hundreds of bears pour onto the ice following the team's first goal of the evening.

The bears and proceeds from their sales were donated to Community Action, a local non-profit benefiting the low-income population in the Lancaster and Saunders counties.

On Tuesday, Stars players visited the Community Action agency to deliver the bears and learn about the agency's mission.

"It's a great event for the community and for those we serve," Community Action Resource Development Director Jill Connor said. "We're grateful and humbled for the support in the community and really appreciate the Stars willingness to participate every year."

On Saturday Dec. 5, the Stars hosted a postgame jersey auction benefiting Make-A-Wish Nebraska, an organization geared toward granting wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.

The Stars wore special jerseys during Saturday's game and auctioned them on behalf of Make-A-Wish Nebraska for a combined sum of more than $20,000.

"The jerseys being worn by the players and the auction afterwards helped remind everyone there that wishes are happening right now in Nebraska," Make-A-Wish Regional Program Director Melissa Davis-Schmit said. "What an incredible night it was!"

Ludvig Hoff's jersey was auctioned for $2,200; Peyton Jones' jersey was sold for $1,700; and Will D'Orsi's jersey went for $1,500.

The Stars continued their mission to serve the local community on Monday, Dec. 8, joining 93.7 The Ticket as bell ringers for the Salvation Army.

The Stars are back in action Friday, December 11th against the Omaha Lancers at the Ice Box. For tickets and more information log on to lincolnstars.com.
