
Stars Face the Music, Falling 112-107 to Remix

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (4-9), the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, came up short in a close contest against the Rip City Remix (9-4) (Portland Trail Blazers affiliate), falling 112-107 in a game that saw 21 lead changes and seven ties, Tuesday night at the Maverik Center.
Utah Jazz assignment player Brice Sensabaugh, scored 21 points, grabbing 10 rebounds to earn a double-double in 22 minutes off the bench. Utah Jazz two-way guard Johnny Juzang, added 21 points, netting three made threes. Juzang grabbed seven rebounds and served two assists for the Stars. Salt Lake City guard Isaiah Miller, tallied 19 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals in his 28 minutes as a reserve. Meanwhile Utah Jazz two-way guard Jason Preston, flirted with a triple-double once again, posting 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Stars and Remix traded baskets throughout the first nine minutes of the first quarter, tallying 11 lead changes and three ties. Rip City reeled off a 10-0 run, grabbing their largest lead of nine, before Salt Lake City cut the deficit to trail 34-30 after the first period. The Remix lead crept to nine points again in the second quarter. However, a 13-4 Stars run, including five straight points from Miller, brought the game to a 62-62 tie at halftime.
Rip City went on a 7-0 run to open the third quarter, before Salt Lake City clawed their way back once again, using a late offensive flurry from Sensabaugh and Preston to take an 85-82 lead after 36 minutes of play. The Stars opened up a 5-point lead in the fourth quarter, their largest of the game, but the Remix retaliated and grabbed the final victory 112-107.
Rip City forward D'Moi Hodge led the Remix's offensive attack with 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Meanwhile, Rip City guard Ashton Hagans added a double-double on 16 points and 10 assists in 31 minutes.
The Stars take the floor again on Sunday, Feb. 4th, when they cross the border to face the Mexico City Capitanes at Arena CDMX. The contest tips off at 4:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast LIVE on nbagleague.com.
