Stars Deliver 6-2 Loss to Rampage

SAN ANTONIO - Justin Dowling's three-point game helped the Texas Stars (26-27-1-2) defeat the San Antonio Rampage (21-31-4-1) 6-2 on Sunday night at the AT&T Center. Forward Rocco Grimaldi recorded one goal while skating in his 200th professional game.

After a scoreless first period, the Stars were first to lite the lamp at 2:21 of the second frame when Matej Stransky registered a shorthanded goal on Rampage netminder Spencer Martin. Texas extended its lead nearly eight minutes later when Dowling connected on a five-on-three power-play opportunity 10:03 into the stanza. San Antonio landed its first goal of the evening at 17:39 when A.J. Greer finished a rebounding puck in front of Texas' net.

The Stars extended their lead to three in the third period as Dowling and Cole Ully recorded a pair of goals just 48 seconds apart at the 5:55 and 6:43 marks, respectively. San Antonio fought back in the middle of the stanza when Grimaldi tallied his 23rd goal of the season at 12:34. The Rampage rally was shut down in the closing minutes as Texas registered two empty-net goals from Travis Morin and Ully at 17:28 and 18:53, respectively.
