Stars Crank out 18 Hits to Take Rubber Match

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Biscuits (40-40/5-5) matched a season-high by allowing 18 hits in a 7-4 loss in the rubber-match to the Huntsville Stars (52-28/6-4) Saturday night at Joe Davis Stadium.

Six of the Stars finished with multi-hit games including Kentrail Davis and Josh Prince who finished with four hits each.

Prince started the scoring for the Stars with a two-run single in the first inning to make it 2-1. After a two-run home run by D'Vontrey Richardson in the third inning, Davis drove in another run with a triple to give the Stars a 5-1 lead. Huntsville piled on the hits and runs by bringing eight batters to the plate in the seventh and scoring two runs to take a 7-4 lead. Nick Ramirez grounded out with the bases loaded to avoid a big inning.

Cameron Seitzer and Jake Hager led the way offensively for the Biscuits. Seitzer drove in his first run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning to bring home Ryan Brett who scored two runs on the night. Seitzer then hit a solo home run - his third home run in the last two games - in the sixth inning to bring the Biscuits within a run.

Hager's big hit came in the fifth inning. With two on and two out, Hager ripped a 2-0 pitched to center to score both runners and make it a 5-3 game.

Seitzer finished his day 2-for-3 while Hager went 3-for-5. Each drove in two runs.

The Biscuits will continue on their ten-game road trip when they open a five-game series against the Tennessee Smokies on Sunday night. RH Dylan Floro will face off with RH Dae-Eun Rhee. First pitch is slated for 6:15 cst from Smokies Park.
