Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars have added forward Mike Gillespie from The Ohio State University, the team announced on Thursday.

Gillespie recorded 18 goals and 16 assists in 59 games for the Stars last season. He rejoins the team after posting one goal in eight games at Ohio State.

"It means a lot for me to return to such a great organization," Gillespie said. "I'm very excited for the opportunity and to help the team reach the final goal."

Gillespie helped lead the Stars during the 2014-2015 campaign, sharing the team lead with 34 points.

"Michael is a player who has played under our staff and we feel can add extreme value to our club moving forward," Stars GM Jon Hull said. "Anytime you can add a player of his caliber it's a positive."

The Stars return to the Ice Box on Friday, Jan. 8 against the Omaha Lancers. For tickets and more information log on to lincolnstars.com.
