SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today the acquisition of guard Xavier Pinson from the available player pool.
Pinson (6-3, 174, New Mexico State) joins the Stars most recently from the Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate), where he appeared in two games, averaging 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals. The guard owns additional G League experience from his time with the Portland affiliate, the Rip City Remix, where he played two games, averaging 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists during the regular season.
Prior to his professional career, the Chicago native played three seasons for Missouri (2018-21), along with one at LSU (2021-22) and New Mexico State (2022-23) respectively. During his three years at Missouri, where he played in 88 games (49 starts), he averaged 10.3 points, 2.6 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game. Pinson helped lift the Tigers to a 16-10 overall record, making an appearance in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
The Stars will host the Austin Spurs (San Antonio Spurs affiliate) in their final home game of the season on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at Delta Center. Tickets are available on slcstars.com/tickets and the contest will be broadcast live on Jazz+ and NBAGLeague.com.
