Stars Acquire Peters from Sioux Falls

Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars acquired Collin Peters from the Sioux Falls Stampede for Carson Gicewicz and two draft picks, the team announced on Thursday.

Peters has 19 points in 35 games with the Stampede. In his second USHL season, the Northern Michigan commit has 30 points in 65 career games.

"Collin has great USHL experience," Stars General Manager Jon Hull said. "We believe his style of play and experience in the league will help improve our team."

Peters is a 1997 birth year, standing 6'0" 172 lbs. He participated in the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and represented the United States at the World Junior A Challenge.

The Stars traded a fourth-round pick in the 2016 Phase I draft and a sixth-round pick in the Phase II draft to the Stampede.

"The Lincoln Stars would like to wish Carson all the best," Hull said. "Once a Star, always a Star."

The Stars are back in action Friday, February 5 against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm in the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
