Lumberjacks Welcome Tyler Irvine

MUSKEGON, MI - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that they have acquired forward Tyler Irvine from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

In exchange, the Lumberjacks traded an 8th Round 2016 Phase 2 Draft pick as compensation. The Bloomington Thunder originally had the rights to the draft pick before Muskegon acquired it in exchange for Christian Hausinger.

Irvine, 19, joins the Lumberjacks after playing 25 games for the RoughRiders this season, totaling three goals and two assists. This is his first season in the United States Hockey League.

Before joining the USHL this season, the 5'11", 170 pound forward played for the Topeka Roadrunners in the North American Hockey League last season. In 57 games with Topeka, Irvine registered 17 goals and 17 assists, and also added six points in eight postseason games.

The Livonia, Michigan native also played for his local high school, Livonia Stevenson during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. In 57 games, he scored 46 goals and recorded 84 assists.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks (14-16-4) host the Bloomington Thunder (21-12-4) for a pair of games this weekend. Friday, the Lumberjacks will feature their Dollar Beer and Dollar Dog night. Saturday, Muskegon will host their College Night. Puck drop for both games will be at 7:15 p.m.
