Forward Carson Gicewicz with the Lincoln Stars

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Stampede announced Thursday they have acquired forward Carson Gicewicz (Giss-ehv-ich) and two draft picks in the 2016 USHL Draft in exchange for forward Colin Peters.
Gicewicz appeared in 41 games this season with the Stars, posting 11 points (3g, 8a). The Orchard Park, NY native spent last season skating with Nichols School in Buffalo, NY where he recorded 12 points (7g, 5a) in 15 games. He was originally selected by the Youngstown Phantoms in 2013 Futures Draft and appeared in three games with the Phantoms during the 2013-14 season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound center has already committed to play collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University where he will join current Stampede defenseman Garrett Cecere.
In addition to adding Gicewicz to the Stampede roster, the Herd also acquired a 2016 Phase I draft choice and a 2016 Phase II draft choice from the Stars.
Peters was in his second season with the Stampede and tallied 19 points (10g, 9a) in 35 games. Last season, he appeared in 28 games and posted 11 points (6g, 5a). He will attend Northern Michigan University next fall.
Gicewicz will wear #11 and is eligible to play tomorrow (Friday) when the Herd host his former team, the Lincoln Stars, at 7:05 PM. It is also Faith and Family Night, presented by Restoration Generation. On Saturday, the Herd will host the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 PM for Special Olympics South Dakota Night, presented by Modern Woodmen of America.
