Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack, on behalf of Grey-Bruce Crime Stoppers is pleased to announce that Phil Pritchard, "Keeper of the Cup" and Vice President of the Hockey Hall of Fame will be bringing the Stanley Cup to Owen Sound on Saturday, December 18th when the Attack play host to the Niagara Ice Dogs.

The Stanley Cup will be on the ice for the national anthem and Pritchard will take part in the ceremonial face-off. The Cup was last in Grey-Bruce in 2007 when it was in Saugeen Shores. It was in Chesley in 2005. Fans can view the Cup at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre beginning at 6:30 p.m. They can either use their own camera to take a picture with the trophy or have Crime Stoppers take a picture and print it off that evening. Both options will cost a minimum donation of $5.

"It's a fundraiser/promotional event for Crime Stoppers and if we look at breaking even, just the recognition would be great," said local Crime Stoppers police coordinator Dean Rutherford. "The Warrilow Family at Garb and Gear Source for Sports has stepped up with a sizeable donation to assist in covering costs, while Joy Source for Sports in Walkerton along with Bob Nicol at Caruthers Nicol Insurance have also contributed financially to offset costs.", said Rutherford.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own cameras for pictures in order to limit lineups to a manageable amount.

Game time against Niagara on the 18th is 7:30pm.
