
Stanifer Added to Zephyrs Roster

Metairie, LA â The NEW ORLEANS ZEPHYRS, the Class AAA Pacific Coast league affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce that pitcher Rob Stanifer has been added to the roster. The Astros signed Stanifer as a free agent and assigned him to the Zephyrs. To make room for Stanifer on the roster, Santiago Ramirez was placed on the disabled list with a tender shoulder.
Stanifer, 31, appeared in three games for the Iowa Cubs this season going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA (3ER/7IP) and has a career major league record of 3-6 with a 5.43 ERA (64ER/106.0 IP) in 82 appearances with Boston (2000) and Florida (1997,1998). He was originally selected in the 12h round of the 1994 draft by Florida.
Ramirez has a record of 4-0 with a 4.26 ERA (6ER/12.2IP) in 10 appearances for the Zephyrs this season.
The Zephyrs go for the split with the Omaha Royals tonight at 7:05 P.M. Zooperstars will perform at the game, a car given away to one lucky fan and fireworks will follow the game. The game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs and Ron Swoboda calling the action.
