(Calgary) - (Calgary) - Today Calgary Stampeders' General Manager and Head Coach Matt Dunigan announced the free agent signing of running back Victor Ike.

His biggest game came on September 11 vs Rutgers . he rushed the ball 17 times for 94 yards and 1 touchdown . he also picked up one reception on the year for an 80 yard touchdown reception vs North Carolina St. on August 28.

Ike was redshirted in his freshman year.
High School
Ike was a two-time first-team all-district and all-Centex performer ... He rushed for an AISD record 1,742 yards and scored 30 touchdowns on 183 carries in just 10 games in 1997 ... Also that year, he had six games of 200 or more yards and two games of 300 or more yards ... Ike ran for 344 yards and eight touchdowns vs. Round Rock Westwood in 1997. In his senior season, he returned a punt for a score and tallied 178 points ... As a junior, he rushed for 1,612 yards and 25 touchdowns ... Ike finished third in the 100 meters at the 1997 5A state meet and won district titles in the 100 and 200 meters as a junior. He recorded bests of 10.22 in the 100 and 21.4 in the 200.
Noteworthy
His cousin, Derrick Ned, played running back at Grambling (1990-93) and for the New Orleans Saints (1993-95) ...Victor Ike enjoys playing basketball and video games.
