Since 1961 the Stampeders and Ti-Cats have faced each other 65 times ... the Stampeders have won 41 of those games and lost 23 ... two games were lost in overtime ... currently the Stampeders have a three game winning streak against the Ti-Cats ... the last Stamps victory came on October 3rd at McMahon Stadium as they won convincingly 32-12 ... while the last Ti-Cats victory over the Stampeders was on July 12, 2002 as the red and white fell short in overtime ... losing by a score of 34-31 ... the Stampeders enter today's game with 1 win and 1 loss ... opening the season at Taylor Field the Stamps would have a convincing victory over the Roughriders by a score of 33-10 ... various players had exceptional games to start the season ... on offense, Quarterback Marcus Crandell had a very solid game completing 20 of 36 passes for 286 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception ... Albert Connell led all receivers in the game with 5 catches for 90 yards ... on defence, Linebacker Scott Coe had a great game picking up 6 defensive tackles, 1 special team tackle, 1 interception and 1 knockdown ... on special teams Kicker Charlie Hebert looked solid while newcomer Joe Bonaventura blocked a Roughrider punt which rolled into the endzone and was recovered by Stamepder Milo Lewis for a touchdown ... last week the Stampeders played the Montreal Alouettes ... the game was close for almost three quarters until Montreal Defensive Lineman Anwar Stewart picked off a Tommy Jones pass and took it back the distance for a touchdown ... the game would end in a 32-14 victory for the Alouettes ... Albert Connell once again led the Stampeders in receiving picking up 6 catches for 127 yards and 1 touchdown ... on special teams, Wane McGarity had a respectable day averaging 27 yards on kickoff returns ... totalling 126 yards on 6 returns ... defensively Linebacker John Grace and Defensive Back Milo Lewis both came up with interceptions, giving the Stampeders 6 on the season ... in 2003 the team finished the season with only 9 interceptions ... Grace's interception was returned 82 yards for a touchdown ... heading into this week Hamilton's quarterback, Danny McManus, has been on fire completing 43 of 74 passes for 1001 yards (league best) 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions ... while the Ti-Cats also have 2 of the 3 top receivers in the league ... Craig Yeast is second with 7 catches for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns ... while Demetrious Breedlove is third with 10 receptions for 227 yards and 1 touchdown ... the Stamps next home game is Saturday, July 24th vs the Saskatchewan Roughriders kick-off is at 5:00 pm.
LINE-UP CHANGES: There are three roster moves this week: Defensive Back Jeremy Pearl will be back on the roster this week after sitting out the previous meeting against Montreal ... coming off the roster is injured linebacker Wes Robertson who turned over his ankle in practice this week ... Defensive Back Matt McKnight also injured his ankle in last weeks game and will be replaced by Linebacker Christian Simmerling ... the last change will see Linebacker Charles Assmann back in the line-up for the first time this season after undergoing successful knee surgery just prior to training camp ... he will replace Linebacker Marc Mitchell.
LAST MEETING AT McMAHON â October 3, 2003 â Calgary 32 Hamilton 12. Kevin Feterik threw three touchdowns and Lawrence Phillips led a dominant ground attack as the Calgary Stampeders rolled to a 32-12 win over the Hamilton Tiger Cats ... Phillips ran for 155 yards as the Stampeders gained 225 of their 480 offensive yards on the ground. Feterik started in place of the injured Marcus Crandell and completed 14 of 19 passes for 255 yards ... The game was tied 6-6 when Feterik threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to fullback Scott Regimbald at 12:10 of the second quarter ... He completed a five-yard scoring pass to Darnell McDonald in the third and added a 15-yard TD to Kamau Peterson early in the fourth ... Calgary's Antwone Young returned a fumble 27 yards with 2:08 remaining as Hamilton stumbled to its 15th loss in 16 games ... Stampeders' linebacker Otis Floyd got in a fight with Tiger Cats center Carl Coulter in the final minute ... He ripped the helmet off Coulter's head and threw it, striking official Boris Velcic in the face ... Velcic was down for several minutes but finished the game.
