Stamps Select Eight Players in CFL Draft

The Calgary Stampeders chose a total of eight players in Sunday's Canadian Football League draft.

The team's picks were as follows:

1st round - 6th overall

Randy Colling

DL

Gannon

6-foot-5, 314 lbs.

Colling has played four years in the Arena Football League for the Cleveland Gladiators, making 74 tackles and 14.5 sacks. He attended mini-camps with the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers before signing a futures contract with the Buffalo Bills. He also spent time with the New York Giants. He was born in the U.S. but recently obtained his Canadian citizenship, qualifying for that status because his father Kirby was born in Hamilton, Ont. Colling played four years at Division II's Gannon University Golden Knights (2008-11) and recorded 220 tackles, 48 tackles for loss and 25 sacks.

2nd round - 17th overall

Julan Lynch

REC

Saskatchewan

6-foot-2, 228 lbs.

Lynch played 28 games for the Saskatchewan Huskies and had 85 catches for 1,133 yards and seven touchdowns during his four-year career. The Regina native made a career-long catch of 63 yards in 2016. He did not begin playing football until Grade 11 at Michael A. Riffel High School in Regina.

3rd round - 25th overall

Tunde Adeleke

Carleton

5-foot-10, 190 lbs.

Adeleke placed first in the 40-yard dash at the CFL Combine with a time of 4.58 seconds. During his career at Carleton, Adeleke tallied 104 tackles, four tackles for loss and four interceptions. He was a first-team CIS all-Canadian as a kick returner in 2015.

4th round - 28th overall

Ante Milanovic-Litre

Simon Fraser

6-foot-0, 223 lbs.

The Vancouver product had 89 carries for 105 yards and 20 receptions for 142 yards during his senior season at Simon Fraser. He impressed scouts at the Western regional combine before earning an invitation to the national combine. He also worked out for the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons of the NFL.

5th round - 43rd overall

Felix Gacusana

OL

Simon Fraser

6-foot-2, 318 lbs.

Gacusana played four seasons with the Simon Fraser Clan. In 2016, he was named a second team all-star for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II level.

6th round - 52nd overall

Alexandre Gagnon

DL

Sherbrooke

6-foot-7, 231 lbs.

Gagnon made 16 tackles and had 5.5 sacks over eight games in 2016. He placed second in the three-cone drill at the East regional combine.

7th round - 61st overall

Adam Laurensse

DB

Calgary

6-foot-1, 183 lbs.

Laurensse earned his fourth Canada West all-star selection in 2016 as he made 23 tackles. He also appeared on special teams, returning 15 punts for 229 yards. Laurensse was honoured as an all-Canadian in both 2014 and 2015. The Sherwood Park, Alta., native has a team-high four interceptions as a freshman in 2013. Prior to playing for the Dinos, he suited up for the Edmonton Wildcats of the Canadian Junior Football League.

8th round - 70th overall

Richard Sindani

REC

Calgary Colts

6-foot-2, 205 lbs.

After spending three years with the University of Regina Rams, Sindani made 38 catches 487 yards and two touchdowns with the Calgary Colts juniors in 2016. As a member of his hometown Rams, the Regina native registered 33 receptions for 467 yards to go along with three scores.
