Stampede to Wear Pink Jerseys

BOISE, Idaho, January 28, 2014 - For the third straight year, the Idaho Stampede will proudly wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Idaho Stampede have announced a partnership with St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) and Boise's own AuctionFrogs.org to help raise money for the mammography assistance fund, called "The 3nd Annual Real Men Wear Pink Night." The state of Idaho ranks last in the U.S. in mammogram screening - with this auction, all money raised will be donated to St. Luke's to provide mammography assistance to those who cannot afford it otherwise, saving the lives of countless women, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.
The team will wear special jerseys on Jan 31 and Feb 1 that demonstrate the organization's commitment to helping women in Idaho.
"By wearing pink-themed jerseys on the court, we hope to emphasize the importance of mammograms and early detection in fighting cancer," Stampede President and General Manager Steve Brandes said. "We hope these unique uniforms will get the community thinking about what they can do to rally behind the cause."
The Stampede will auction off the jerseys in an online auction hosted by AuctionFrogs.org, which includes additional items from the Stampede such as merchandise and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The team will wear the jerseys on Jan 31 and Feb 1 home games against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Fans can bid on the jerseys while at CenturyLink Arena during the games by finding the auction kiosk, but the auction will finish online Feb 1 at 11:59 p.m.
