Legends Stumble on the Road

ONTARIO, CA, (Jan. 27, 2014) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), traveled to the West coast for their first and only matchup of the season against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Top prospect Devin Ebanks and PJ Hairston combined for 50 points on the night, but the D-Fenders took home the victory 150-124.

The Legends got off to a slow start, going down by as many as 12 in the first quarter. Ebanks had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the first half, but the team had 12 turnovers and only 2 steals. The D-Fenders went up 15 before the Legends went on an 11-1 run and ultimately cut their deficit to 8 at the half. Texas grabbed the first basket out of the locker room, but the D-Fenders were quick to find their shot, outscoring the Legends 87-69 in the final 24 minutes.

Ebanks led the Legends with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists while Hairston came off the bench to add 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. CJ Williams had a game-high 36 points for the D-Fenders followed by Terrence Williams with 27 points, 1 rebound and 7 assists.
