Stampede to play at Bank of America Centre

April 28, 2005 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Idaho Stampede News Release

Boise, Idaho (April 28, 2005) -- The Idaho Stampede will play its home games at the Bank of America Centre in Boise beginning this November. The team has completed a multi-year agreement with the owners of the arena and believes the move will result in a fan-friendly home schedule and allow the team to compete more effectively in the CBA.

The Stampede will now submit a calendar of available home dates to the CBA league office and anticipates announcing its 2005-06 schedule in June. Securing additional home games in February and March, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays, is the top priority to make the home schedule better for fans and the team. This past season the Stampede played ten of its final 13 games on the road and was eliminated from post-season play in the final week of the season.

Attendance figures have indicated that Treasure Valley basketball fans prefer weekend games in the months of January, February and March. In the past two seasons, the team has averaged 3,618 fans for weekend games during those months. The overall attendance average for the past two seasons is 2,820.

The move also eliminates the potential of conflicting of home dates between the Stampede and the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads. Prices for Stampede season tickets will remain the same as last season. The season ticket renewal process will begin May 9 for current Stampede season ticket holders.

In addition to hosting 24 home games and any possible playoff games at the Bank of America Centre, the Stampede will also host the 2006 CBA All-Star Classic. The all-star game will be played in mid-January and serve as a celebration of the CBA's 60th anniversary season.

The Idaho Stampede has played at the Idaho Center in Nampa for the past three seasons.
