
Stampede Spirit dance team part of NBA All-Star Weekend

BOISE, Idaho (February 13, 2007) - The Idaho Stampede dance team, the Farmers and Merchants Bank Stampede Spirit, will perform at the inaugural Gillette NBA D-League All-Star Game in association with 24 Fitness on Saturday, February 17 in conjunction with NBA All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas, NV.
The Farmers and Merchants Spirit dance team will travel ten members to Las Vegas this weekend to play a big role in entertaining fans during NBA All-Star Weekend.
"We are so excited to be invited to perform during NBA All-Star Weekend," said dance team director Jennifer Huter. "We are honored to be able to showcase the talents of our dancers, and showcase the Stampede and Idaho to everyone associated with the NBA and its fans."
The Stampede Spirit entertain fans throughout the year through performances at games, demonstrations at community events, and run clinics to teach kids about the excitement and joy of dance. The team also performs a number of community service projects within the Treasure Valley.
This season will be the first time that dancers will play a key role in the NBA All-Star festivities. The NBA All-Star dance team will consist of one dancer per each NBA team, and all 30 members will perform during the NBA All-Star game on Sunday, February 18. All dancers will perform a number of community service projects throughout the Las Vegas area as a part of the NBA Cares initiative.
The Spirit dance team will be the only NBA Development League dance squad represented. Fans can see the Farmers and Merchants Bank Stampede Spirit perform post-All-Star break at the Stampede's next home game on Thursday, February 22 vs. Tulsa.
