Idaho Stampede News Release

Boise, Idaho (January 12, 2005) – The Idaho Stampede has signed former NBA All-Star Jayson Williams. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward will be in uniform tonight when the CBA team hosts the Yakima SunKings. Game time is 7:10 p.m. (MST) at the Idaho Center. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Upon signing the deal, Mr. Williams stated, "I love basketball and look forward to competing again at the sport that I hold so dear. The Idaho Stampede is a very professional organization for which I look forward to playing. Interested NBA teams want assurances that I am completely recovered and that I am able to deal with rigors of daily competition. The very competitive CBA will provide me this opportunity."

"I respect the legal process and understand the road before me, yet I desire to use the gifts and skills God has given me as a basketball player," Williams continued. "With great peace, I have surrendered my future as a man and a basketball player to the will of God. I am very thankful and humbled by the support, understanding and encouragement I have received from so many people throughout the country.

Williams was a first-round NBA draft pick in 1990 and played nine seasons for the New Jersey Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 7.3 points and 7.5 rebounds. He was selected to play in the 1998 NBA All-Star game. He retired two years later due to a knee injury.

Tonight's game will be webcast live on the internet. Access to the webcast is available at no charge by going to www.idahostampede.com and clicking the link to Crucial Technology StampedeVision.
