
Stampede make room for rebounder

(Boise, Idaho) - The Idaho Stampede have added some size to their roster, acquiring center Badou Gaye from the NBA D-League available player. They waived guard Julius Hodge.
The 6-foot-9 inch and 250 pound Gaye spent the 2005-06 season in Belgium with Liege, averaging 5.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocked shots in 14 games. Gaye also appeared in one game for Brest in the French League, scoring six points and grabbing four rebounds. He played with the Westchester Wildfire in the USBL in the summer of 2005, averaging 14.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.1 blocked shots. Ranked second in the league in both rebounds and blocked shots. Named to the All-Rookie Team.
In two games with the Stampede, Hodge averaged 12.5 points, four rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
The D-League currently includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders (Calif.), Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).
The D-League continues to develop talent from across all disciplines for the NBA's 30 teams and the entire NBA umbrella. In addition to the assignment of 20 NBA players to D-League affiliates this season, there have also been 11 GATORADE Call-Ups from the D-League to the NBA. Additionally, every referee hired by the NBA since 2002 has worked in the D-League, while coaches, athletic trainers and front office executives are also being developed.
