14ers Sweep Season Series Against D-Fenders

DENVER - The Colorado 14ers ran their win streak to six games with a 114-96 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders Saturday night. The win is also gives Colorado the season sweep of the six game series with the D-Fenders. The 14ers improve to 26-14 on the season with the win, while Los Angeles drops to 19-20 with the loss.

Los Angeles jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter behind four three pointers from guard Brian Chase. He had 16 points in the opening period as the D-Fenders built a 20 point lead on the road. The Colorado comeback began in the second quarter behind the strong play of swingman Terrence Crawford. He had seven points and five rebounds in the period, and helped the 14ers outscore Los Angeles 32-19 and take a 55-54 halftime lead. Crawford finished with 15 points on a perfect seven of seven shooting, and pulled down 12 rebounds in the win.

"It's like the old saying goes, Jack of all trades master of none. Terrence understands the game so well even at a young age," said 14ers coach Joe Wolf. "He understands what's needed in the game and how to help his teammates, and if he has to step it up he steps it up."

Crawford continued to pace Colorado on the defensive end in the third quarter. The 14ers held Los Angeles to just four of 23 shooting, and a new NBA Development League record low 13 points in the period. Outscoring the D-Fenders by 11 in the quarter, Colorado took a 79-67 lead into the fourth period before going on to the win.

Sean Banks led all scorers with 27 points and 10 rebounds in defeat for Los Angeles. P.J. Tucker had 19 in his second game back on assignment with the 14ers from the Toronto Raptors. Elton Brown posted his fourteenth fifteenth double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds in the Colorado victory
