Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, Idaho, December 2, 2009 - Dakota's Romel Beck scored 30 points as the Dakota Wizards inched by the Stampede to win 117-114 at the Quest Arena in Boise, ID tonight.
"Not the energy we needed; three games in 5 days brought us down," said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon.
The Stampede had six players score in double digits including Sundiata Gains coming off the bench to score 29 points. With five players in double digits, the Wizards were led by Romel Beck's 30 points and Jimmy Binnie with 18 points. Both teams were even from behind the three point line, but the Wizards were 11-16 and the Stampede went 11-31.
It was a very hard fought game, both teams have very similar styles," said Rory White Head Coach of the Wizards. "The Stampede get up and down the court, but our team came out ahead in the end. It was a good game for the Fans."
The two teams face up again this Saturday December 5, for the second game in a two game series.
