Swift Leaves Jam
December 3, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Bakersfield Jam News Release
(Bakersfield, Calif. - December 3, 2009) - The Bakersfield Jam will be without local product Robert Swift for its home opener, and possibly for some time afterwards as Swift has returned to his Seattle home to deal with a family issue that requires his immediate attention. Robert left the team on Wednesday.
"It's unfortunate, obviously - not only because we expect Robert to be a fan favorite, but also because he is our starting center and someone we count on to contribute on the floor," said Jam co-owner David Higdon. "That said, family always comes first and we wish Robert the best in resolving his issues. We hope to have him back sooner than later."
In his two games this season, Swift averaged 2.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. As of this release, no explicit timetable has been set for his return to the team.
