Stampede Continue Homestand this Weekend

The Stampede (15-6-7) continue their four-game homestand this weekend when they host Tri-City on Saturday and Omaha on Sunday at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Stampede are currently in third place in the West Division, just two points behind Fargo for second.

On Saturday, the Stampede face the Tri-City Storm for the third time this season. The Herd are 2-0-0 against Tri-City this year, including a 4-2 win in Kearney, NE on New Year's Eve.

On Sunday, Sioux Falls plays host to the arch rival Omaha Lancers at 6:05 PM. The Herd are 1-2-0 against the Lancers who enter the week with a USHL best 23-6-1 record.

The Stampede went 1-2-0 last weekend. The Herd defeated Tri-City 4-2 on Thursday before falling 4-2 to Team USA on Friday and 6-5 to Fargo on Sunday. Matt Zarbo and Mike Voran led the way offensively with four points each on the weekend.

CHILI'S NIGHT WITH THE HERD SATURDAY

Thanks to Chili's of Sioux Falls, this Saturday night all fans in attendance will receive a coupon good for "Free Chips & Queso" with any entrée purchase from Chili's on West 41st Street!

The second of four Stampede Family Night's takes place this Sunday, January 10th at 6:05 PM when the Herd entertain Omaha at the Sioux Falls Arena.

SERTOMA SUNDAY RETURNS THIS WEEKEND

The second of four Sertoma Sunday's takes place this weekend when the Herd host Omaha at 6:05 PM. Fans can take part in special fundraising activities during the game that help benefit the Sertoma Butterfly House.

A silent auction will take place in the front lobby of the arena each Sunday where fans can bid on several exciting sports memorabilia, including:

Sandy Koufax autographed "4 No Hitters" logo baseball from Upper Deck (Limited Edition #33 of 132 worldwide)

Jerry Rice signed San Francisco 49'ers No. 80 jersey

Brett Favre signed Green Bay Packers jersey

Joe Montana signed University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Helmet in deluxe display case.

In addition, fans can purchase Sertoma Bingo sheets and play hockey "bingo" during the game. Sheets are $2 for adults and $1 for children. Thanks to McDonald's of Sioux Falls & Brandon, any child who purchases a bingo sheet will receive a free Sunday from McDonald's! One (1) adult bingo winner will take home 50% of the net proceeds from the bingo sales.

FORMER STAMPEDE FORWARDS NAMED TO ECHL ALL-STAR GAME

Three former Stampede forwards have been selected to play in the ECHL All-Star Game, January 20th in Ontario, California. Jacob Micflikier 2001-03) and Jeff Prough (2003-04) have been named to the American Conference roster while Dan Sexton (2006-07) has been named to the National Conference roster. Both Sexton and Micflikier are unlikely to participate however, as Sexton is currently skating with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL while Micflikier is playing with the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Micflikier was selected as a member of the Florida Everblades, Prough with the Trenton Devils and Sexton with the Bakersfield Condors.
